Each day, I will feature a song from one of the countries that are in this year’s Eurovision. Like 2019, I will make my own predictions of who will make it to the finals and maybe win the competition. Good luck to those who are competing!
Anxhela Peristeri’s “Karma”
Anxhela Peristeri’s “Karma” is representing Albania in this year’s Eurovision. A Balkan-inspired pop ballad, “Karma” features a mixture of modern (pop) and traditional (Albanian instruments). I really love this mixture as each element doesn’t overpower each other, instead, blends well together. I also love Peristeri’s vocal delivery as it is powerful. I feel like she might be able to take that vocal performance to the next level in the semi-finals performance as I feel like she could do it.,
A song that talks about a woman who blames herself as things fall apart in the midst of karma, Anxhela Peristeri’s “Karma” is such a rich and powerful strong with its mixture of modern and traditional, strong melodies from the traditional Albanian instruments, and a great performance from Peristeri With these factors, “Karma” will make it to the finals.
Lyrics
Here is the English translation for the lyrics, thanks to Eurovision.tv:
God doesn’t forgive me
Life, as in a fairy-tale
Has spoiled me
Up in the sky
I lived like a star
Laughing like crazy
When you groan
Heartless,
I only loved myself too much
God doesn’t forgive me
The world fell on me
You ran away from me, my friends ran away
There is no light
God doesn’t forgive me
I yelled voicelessly
Bundle tears in my hand
They are rusty
I looked for you through empty hearts
And realized nothing seduces me
I am alone
Yes, I am alone
When I groaned, you laughed like a fool
I deserved to be dragged
I am guilty
Yes, I am guilty
God doesn’t forgive me
The world fell on me
You ran away from me, my friends ran away
There is no light
God doesn’t forgive me
I yelled voicelessly
Bundle tears in my hand
They are rusty
God doesn’t forgive me
The world fell on me
You ran away from me, my friends ran away
There is no light
God doesn’t forgive me
I yelled voicelessly
Bundle tears in my hand
They are rusty
