Its April and we have less than 60 days till the annual Eurovision contest that will happen next month. Get excited! If you don’t know what Eurovision is, I wrote a detailed post about the contest a couple of years ago. I am back with my series “Road to Eurovision”, predicting who will win this year’s contest. Each day, I will feature a song from one of the countries. Then, I will make my own predictions of who will make it to the finals and win the competition. Good luck to those who are competing!

Let’s get started!
Lumix featuring Pia Maria’s “Halo”
“Halo” by Lumix featuring Pia Maria is representing Austria in this year’s Eurovision. The song ha four songwriters: Anders Nilsen, Gabriele Ponte, Luca Michlmayr, Rasmus Flyckt, and Sophie Alexandra Tweed-Simmons.Music lovers will recognize Gabriele Ponte as he was one-half of the famous late 90s/early 2000s Italian dance band Eiffel 65 (which was my 5th-grade obsession).
“Halo” is a great dance song with its poppy, positive, and slick vocals. But, I don’t think there is anything that showcases the song’s unique charm. Sure, it will people will get up and dance to this song. But, then when the song is over, people will soon forget it as there is nothing unique about it. Sadly, I don’t like “Halo” has anything that makes it uniquely charmful to make it to the finals.
