It’s April and we have less than 60 days till the annual Eurovision contest that will happen next month. Get excited! If you don’t know what Eurovision is, I wrote a detailed post about the contest a couple of years ago. I am back with my series “Road to Eurovision”, predicting who will win this year’s contest. Each day, I will feature a song from one of the countries. Then, I will make my own predictions of who will make it to the finals and win the competition. Good luck to those who are competing!

Let’s get started!
Konstrakta’s “In corpore sano
Konstrakta’s “In corpore sano” is representing Serbia in this year’s Eurovision. This song is filled with irony and satire that talks about various topics like the Serbian healthcare system, mass media, the COVID-19 pandemic, and beauty standards. Although Konstrakta has said that the lyrics have multiple meanings and are open to interpretation. There are mentions of Megan Marke in the beginning as the artist has said she has beautiful hair. But there is also mention that artists being underpaid, mental health, handwashing relating to COVID, and the pressure that Serbian women artists have to be beautiful.
“In corpore sano” delivers current world issues that are serious with catchy melodies. Just listen to the chorus! But also Konstrakta’s avant-garde performance during the Serbian music competition for Eurovision is mesmerizing to watch! The artist is able to deliver a catchy tune that tackles real-life issues. With this, this song will make it to the finals.
