About the Artist: Jasmine
Jasmine is a 17-year-old singer-songwriter. She plays the guitar, piano, and drums. The artist began her career with music at a young age when her mom started putting her into piano lessons. She also did dance lessons. Then eventually Jasmine just went into guitar and learned a little bit of the drums here and there. And that’s how it all started.
The singer-songwriter is open to any genre when it comes to what kind of music inspires her songwriter. Yet, the top genre the artist likes to work with is definitely country. She really loves country music. The other one would have to be like alternative pop/R&B, but she also likes rock. It’s a little bit of everything.
Currently on Jasmine’s playlist is “I’ve Got Wasted on You” “Covering Me Up” by Morgan Wallen and “Pick Pp” by McKenzie Porter. There is also a little bit of Ariana Grande discography mixed with Meatloaf on that playlist.
Jasmine’s Debut Album
The artist released her first album Just a Girl and Her Guitar just recently. This is what she about making the album:
She hopes that listens to the album fully from start to finish to hear the album’s storytelling. There are happier songs (like “Day by Day” and “Say in Your Lane”) and sad ones (like “4Am”). Each track is a piece of the overall story that is told from track one straight to the ending. Don’t skip any tracks or put the album on randomize mode as listeners will miss out on the story. The artist also recommends listening to “4Am”, “Say in Your Lane”, and “She’s so Wrong” as those are her personal favorites.
One of the songs on the album is a guitar-driven track called “Day by Day” (which was also released as a single) that represents the happier side of the album. She recorded at Electric Treehouse with the help of Colin Noel mastering the track. Inspired by the likes of Carrie Underwood and Morgan Wallen musically, this is what Jasmine said about the lyrics’ meanings:
