It was easy to search for one as one of my favorite Kpop songs was a perfect choice! The song? It’s “Party” by Girls’ Generation. “Party” is the lead single off Girls’ Generation’s fifth Korean album Lionheart. This fun-loving 2015 tune was written by Jo Yoon Kyung. She has written lyrics for numerous S.M. Entertainment artists like BoA, NCT 123/Dream, SHINee, Red Velvet, f(x), SUPER JUNIOR, LOONA, and EXO. Kyung wrote a song that envisioned the perfect summer party when writing the lyrics: having fun in the warm weather, having a blast with friends during a night out or a summer party, and just chilling. The vibe found in both the lyrics and the melody has been compared to the fun summer synthpop anthems of Katy Perry.
With its lively guitars, perky synthesizers, and catchy hooks, “Party” by Girls’ Generation is such an addictive song that will make listeners get up to dance.
