It’s April and we have less than 60 days till the annual Eurovision contest that will happen next month. Get excited! If you don’t know what Eurovision is, I wrote a detailed post about the contest a couple of years ago. I am back with my series “Road to Eurovision”, predicting who will win this year’s contest. Each day, I will feature a song from one of the countries. Then, I will make my own predictions of who will make it to the finals and win the competition. Good luck to those who are competing!

Brooke’s “That’s Rich”
Brooke’s “That’s Rich” is representing Ireland in this year’s Eurovision. The artist was inspired by Debbie Harry when writing this song: “I was reading Debbie Harry’s autobiography and wanted to encapsulate the attitude she portrayed in her life.”It’s a fiery and empowering track that narrates how you should never settle for anyone who doesn’t fulfill your needs.
The vocals are rich and powerful with melodic tones that are very ear-pleasing, The melodies are very attractive with a catchy riff featured in the chorus. However, this song is missing that magical touch that would make this song go into the finals. It features that pizzazz, which isn’t Brooke’s fault, but I think it is the overall song’s fault. It’s not a bad song but it may seem a little too generic for the hudge’s tastes. For this, I think it wouldn’t make it to the finals.
