Hello! Thank you so much for having me. My name is Brenzy, and I make Pop/R&B music! I’m from Virginia and moved out to Los Angeles when I was 15, and music is my whole life. I’ve been singing since I was 8 and writing songs since I was 11.
What got you into music? How has that journey been since then?
My parents got me into music! They were in bands together when I was younger, and that’s how I got to sing into a real-life microphone for the first time. I think I was maybe 4 at that time. Before that, I just sang into toys like they were microphones. I fell in love with it when I was really little, so it’s always just been a part of me. It’s definitely been a long and sometimes bumpy road, but I love what I do and am really excited to see what God has in store for my future.
Which artists and genres inspire your music?
Anything 90’s R&B and artists like Ariana Grande and Bruno Mars.How has 2022 been so far? Are there any goals you are working on for your music?
2022 has been a great year for me so far. I released my first single of the year, “180,” and got to release my newest song, “brunch,” in early April. The video is coming soon along with more music in 2022!
Let’s talk about your recent single “brunch”. What is it about? What inspired you to write this song?
This song is pretty simple which is something I love about it. It’s just about wanting to go to brunch with some girlfriends! The inspiration was just a real-life desire, and all of my music comes from my life and personal experiences. So, this song is a fun piece of that.
What inspired you to write it?
I don’t really go out much. Something that’s always seemed fun to me is dressing up and going out to brunch with girlfriends to have mimosas and eat some good food – so I decided to write about it!
What was the production like for this single? How was it working with Jesse Barrera and Patrick Hizon?
When writing this song, my team (Jesse Barrera, Albert Posis, and Patrick Hizon) and I were actually aiming to write a song with a pretty minimal amount of production. We always have the best time in the studio. We’ve become like family, and it’s a blessing to work with them.

What kind of sounds, textures, words, or moods that you wanted to highlight in this song?
We definitely wanted something that felt sunny and fun like a brunch! For lyrics, I tried to use the different elements of brunch/breakfast to add some fun detail. I think we did a pretty good job of capturing the feeling that we were going for.
