It’s May 4th! This means one thing: May the Fourth Be With You! Yes, it’s Star Wars Day! And to celebrate, I dedicate this month’s Battle of the Band to this epic space opera. I usually post The Battle on the 1st of every month, but I delayed it a couple of days because I wanted this battle to be on May 4th.
Star Wars is known for its iconic soundtracks, composed by John Williams, with such well-known tracks as “Main Titles” and “The Imperial March”. But, did you know that this epic space opera also had a handful of vocal tracks, which one was actually released as a single. I really love the tracks because a lot of the tracks are catchy but also highlight the variety of worlds (and language( within the Star Wars universe.
Which two songs did I pick Well, I picked two songs from Episode VI (Return of the Jedi): “Lapti Nek” from the original 1983 release and “Jedi Rocks” from the 1997 Special Edition release. Both were performed at Jabba’s Palace. But, both have different vibes. Which one would you pick? Listen to the songs below and let me know in the comments!
