“Need You” by Emanuel
After releasing his debut single, “Need You”, last week, emerging Canadian R&B artist Emanuel suddenly found himself in global headlines. Only hours after its release, Golden Globe-winning actor, musician, and producer Idris Elba OBE started the collaborative social media campaign #NeedYou2020. In his Instagram post, Elba encouraged people to submit photos or videos for an “inspirational collage” he was creating to Emanuel’s brand-new single that would document how the world was coping with self-isolation.

“All of Us” by Sauce
“All Of Us” is about coming together in desperate times when everything seems to be falling down around you. It’s all about escapism, both lyrically and in its music video, which is an animated blockbuster that depicts the band being sent on a wild ride to the moon in a rock(et) powered car, and is exactly the kind of escapism we all need right now. We’re sure you’d agree that our lead singer’s vocals are absolutely out of this world too.”

“Make Me Strong” by Barking Poets
“It’s just gonna make me strong”. That’s the catchy line Barking Poets belt out on their oncoming single. It was written long before the Coronavirus pandemic but it happens to come out just in time to cheer us up when most needed.
The song was inspired by British Proto-Punk anthems of the 1960’s such as “My Generation” by The Who and “You Really Got Me” by The Kinks but it also connects with the Garage-Rock and Punk-Rock sounds of The Ramones, The Clash and Green Day.

“Happy Mess” by Sean Edwards
This song is about finding positivity in the tough times and understanding that although you may be stressed or looking for meaning, you are still allowed to be happy. Sean is a 23-year-old one-man-band based out of a living room in London, quietly writing away and moulding his sound. He has been compared to the likes of King Krule, Jeff Buckley, and Bloc Party.
